Description
Handmade Sgian Dubh with wild cherry handle.
Every aspect of the Sgian Dubh is made in house in the North East of Scotland to ensure the highest quality product and service.
First, the blade is traditionally hand forged from a selection of steels. Once forging is completed, the blade goes through a heat treating and tempering cycle to give a reliable but sharp edge, adding to the authentic Scottish blacksmithing experience.
The handles have been hand crafted from a selection of local woods and materials including (in some Sgian Dubhs) genuine reclaimed whisky barrel staves from distilleries across the North East of Scotland including the famed Speyside. The scent of the whisky and oak have melded together to develop a unique, warm aroma adding to the tactile feel of the kilt knife. The wood is hand sanded and treated with environmentally-friendly oil to give a beautiful, long lasting, lustre.
The sheath is made from high quality leather by our own leather worker.
The Sgian Dubh will add a lovely flash to any Scotsman’s highland dress.
